I miss college!!!

Heh. There are days I miss junior high.

Seriously, this old feller at the liquor store is lucky he is not charged with attempted murder. If they find the "victim", might get it after all ? No apparent threat

Ah the comments got my blood boiling. Freaking idiots and their misinformation, such as

Fluffydog writes:

A gun story really brings them out.

The point to take away from this story is 3 fold.

1. A innocent bystander or passerby could have been killed. Police are trained to hold their fire if there are potential victims in the background, unfortunately, civilians can buy a gun with no training required.

2. It is illegal to use deadly force unless you reasonably think that your life or someone else's life is in imminent danger. Had he hit the suspect, he would be in jail on a murder charge right now.

3. It is illegal to possess a gun on the premises of a liquor store, even with a carry permit. Therefore, as soon as he brought that gun in there, he was breaking the law. The owner may have the right to possess a firearm there, I'm not sure of the law on that, but I am sure there is a lawyer out there who can tell us.

I am not opposed to guns, I just am opposed to stupid people with a gun, and unfortunately, there are many of those.

And since when did it become illegal to carry in a liquor store?

The Knoxnews trolls in the comment section have nothing better to do than complain. We had one try to start something about our store with "how bad customer service was and such," I got on and told him if he had a problem with it, we would love to hear it in person so we could remedy the problems. Never came by and shut up after that.

Last I heard it was only illegal to carry if posted...

If he wants to scare people, he needs to invest in some blanks. If he wants to shoot robbers, he needs to aim at them. This in-between crap just causes problems.

He should of intervened while the thief was pawing the bottles.

Once the guy hit the sidewalk just let them go.

The owner of that store is a real good guy. They get robbed a lot it seems. I would keep that side door locked.

That's the corrupt clowns at the KPD. Arresting working people and doing nothing about the real criminals.

If not tongue-in-cheek,

then I disagree. While the guy may have been in the "moment", he did not think things through, and as a result brought a heaping helping of unwanted attention upon himself. KPD responded according to training.

For starters that's a discharge within the city, though for a more legitimate purpose. Second, he could have accidentally killed someone firing like. Firing at the Jeep would have been better than over the guys head where it goes somewhere else, at least with the Jeep the engine block would have stopped it.
