Place to shoot near Franklin?

Howdy, I am in Franklin TN and just got my first rifle. I am trying to find a place to shoot near Franklin, but can only find indoor ranges. Anyone out there know of any public ranges or even your own land that you wouldn't mind me shooting on to test out the rifle?
