I applied for my HCP 2 weeks ago and i must say, The wait is horrable. Seems like the days and nights are getting longer and longer as time goes by. Its like waiting for your first child to be born , endless paseing up and down the halls.

Did anyone else feel like this on the wait?

I have no sympathy because in 2008 it was 88 days of waiting for me.

+1. I applied for mine just after our current president was elected... About the time I received it 3 months later, ammo availablilty was dropping and prices were soaring.

Not much sympathy here either.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking... it was around 90 days for mine way back when.

My wife got hers in two weeks.

Been too long ago for me to remember the wait for the ccp, but I can most definitely tell you how long on the NFA stamp...6 months and 12 days.

77 days. When it finally came I was actually surprised a bit. I was figuring on the full 90 days.

Oh yeah. Everyday I got home I asked if that little piece of plastic came in. Felt relieved once it did

My wife applied for her CPL in Michigan in July of 2001. She received it in August of 2002. Top that!

I, on the other hand, applied at the same time and got mine in November of the same year. THE SAME YEAR!

They really liked me. :D

Four weeks for mine, but my renewal is taking forever!

Here, here on the renewal taking forever.

IIRC (and maybe I don't) it took something like 45 days for mine to arrive - which at the time (Summer of 2008) was actually pretty good. Mine expires in August of this year (2012) and I wanted to make sure to renew with plenty of time so after the six month out window passed, I went ahead and did it. I actually renewed in person so I have the receipt - the nice lady at the driver's license testing center actually folded the receipt up with a little 'pocket' to hold my current permit so they would be together. The receipt is dated April 4. As I still haven't gotten the new permit and actually received paperwork in the mail the other day telling me that it is time to renew, I called them this morning. It seems my new permit was issued last Monday (the twenty first) so should be in the mail to me soon. That means it is going to take as long or longer to get my renewal as it took to get my initial permit back when things were so backed up. I haven't had any trouble with the law and haven't even so much as gotten a speeding ticket since getting the initial permit. Seems kind of odd that a renewal check, etc. would take so long. Oh, well, at least it should be on its way, now.
