Will hydrodipping hold up

Recommended Posts

I have a G17 that has some battle wounds. It is the true meaning of beater gun but it still shoots great. I was thinking about having the slide Hydrodipped to hide some of the scars. I will not ever be selling this so I am not worried about resale. I had it duracoated by a guy here in Knox and he did a great job but it still looks battle used. I was thinking of doing a night camo on the slide, that should hide most of the marks and still keep the dark look of the Glock. I had a few questions for the fellow TGOers.

1. How did it turn out? Pics if you have them

2 How is the durability?

3 Who did it?

4. Any suggestions on pattern? Other than night camo.

Most any finish needs all the marks cleaned up. Not many coating will hide marks well. So the prep work is what is needed before any coating.

Your buds at predator customs told me to save my time and order a new slide. They wont work on it because it wont look better than it does now. The guy I had do it did a good job of prepping it and duracoating it. I was looking to put a finish on it that draws you eye away from the scars
