War between the States - Battle For the Rails May 5,6 in Sweetwater

The General John C. Vaughn Camp 2089, Sons of Confederate Veterans is having The Battle for the Rails this Saturday and Sunday in Sweetwater. It starts at 9:30am with the first skirmish at 9:45. Free parking. Admission is $3, ages 12 and up.

There will be period weapons displays and cannon demonstrations.

There will be units from the Union 8th and the Confederate 29th Tennessee, Cobb's Battery, the 14th Tennessee, as well as others.

The Ladies of the Jefferson Davis Chapter No 900, United Daughters of the Confederacy will be there demonstrating cooking, candle making and sewing.

On the hill behind the Sweetwater the flea market.

That is interesting. I've never seen anything like that for previous events. I'll inquire and post back.
