Anyone have any suggestions for a scope mount that will still allow me to utilize the back up iron sights on the rifle? I'm looking at mounting a 3-9x40 rifle scope.

i've heard good things about the nikon prostaff rimfire 4x32 and 3-9x40 on 15-22s. there is a 50$ rebate from nikon if you can get delivery/purchased in store by tomorrow.

I've got a Nikon ready for it, but couldn't find a mount that would allow me to keep my existing iron sights useful. I decided to just buy some magpul back up iron sights so I can use any mount I want regardless of its height

There are mounts for putting 2 optics onto an AR, which put the second set at 45 degrees or so offside the normal barrel axis. Perhaps a set of those? There are also mounts that let you look thru them to see the sights but on an AR the optic is already too high off the barrel, and this adds another inch or more....

I had not thought of the 45 degree offset. That sounds like a good option. Thanks for the heads up on that. I'll have to look into a set of those

I really like those dolomite. I might just get a set of those myself. I appreciate your expertise and recommendations. I've read many of your posts on these forums.

I've seen Jerry Miculek use a red dot mounted at 45 degrees in 3-gun on TV. I've never seen iron sights like that though. Great idea!
