Picked up a M&P 9 Shield today

Went to the range today with the wife just to fire off a few. Ended up buying the new 9 Shield. Ive been going back and forth between it and the M&P 9c. But this is going to be my carry gun and Im a skinny guy. So the slim design of the gun I think will be a better fit. Now it is time to wait until my CWP comes in before I can bring it home from the store. I bought it after we had already been in the range so I didnt get a chance to shoot it. But I can go up there whenever and shoot it. Ill be back later this week.

Heres my new baby.

I didnt have a purchase permit and my CWP hasnt come in yet. We have to have one of those in NC to get a gun.

Wow... I had no idea that NC was so... Marxist.

Haha. It is a pain but what are ya gonna do? (Liberal female Gov.) :ugh:

Yeah. Never heard of that before either. Another reason to love Tennessee. I was upset enough back when you couldn't buy multiple handguns at one time.

Picked up a Shield Friday. My first M&P. Haven't got to shoot it yet, hopefully tomorrow evening.

Anyone here that may have others to compare: How is the trigger on your Shield versus your other M&Ps. I have never shot an M&P, but I remember when they came out I pulled the trigger on one and it felt like crap. The break and reset on the Shield is actually pretty nice. Do the newer M&Ps feel like the Shield? If they do I may have to pick one of them up too.

Ive shot a full size 9 M&P and loved it. Bu due to my size I wanted to go with this. I tried a LC9 a few weeks ago and just couldnt deal with it. It wasnt comfortable and I just didnt enjoy shooting it.

Congrats on your shield you'll really like it. Ive shot 208 rds thru my so far no issue's. It handle's like a full size gun & trigger's pretty good.Out to 10 yds it's dead on will shoot it out a lil farther when i get use to the trigger as ive been shooting glocks for a while.

Let us know what the Trigger's like. If it's the same as the other M&Ps, i will have to make one mine, also.

The trigger (to me) resembles that of a Glock. It's a bit snappy but a solid trigger. Nothing like a LC9

Stop pushing any buttons that have a big D next to them.

The Rs haven't been doing us any favors lately either. I think we have several very intelligent, knowledgeable, and politically involved individuals here in the TGO community that I would vote for if they ran.

You should look at the gun laws in Illinois. You cannot even carry in the Chicago area. They also do not reconize any permit from any state. Now that is .... messed up.

They feel very different due to the skinny grip, I would have liked the grip to be a tab bit more thick but still liked it.

Well it would be an excellent backup for sure. Maybe an ankle gun?

Trigger pull on Shields I've handled was very smiliar to stock M&Ps, but with a much more positive reset. You can definitely feel when it resets.

That's a good thing. One of the things I really like about Glocks.

YOU should look at them a little closer. No permits issued, no carry in entire state.

congrats on the new piece! It could be worse than NC, much worse, but that sounds annoying. Suddenly $10 bucks to get done with it instantly sounds pretty good.

Yup, NC is $5 and ~7 day wait, unless you have carry permit. And discrimination apparently still exists in getting them in some of the 100 counties, too, as it's handled sheriff by sheriff.
