Short AR-15 front sight

I have and AR with an Adams Arms gas piston system installed and an ARMS rail (the only one i found that would fit over the gas piston). recently i went to the range attempting to zero the iron sights and found i was shooting way low at 25M (about 18-21 inches). i compared my setup with a standard F block front sight and found the top of my installed setup was about 1/2" above the standard sight.

i tried all the front sights i have on hand and have yet to find one that will offer the correct sight relationship and still fold out of the way when using my optic.

cant change the gas block or i lose the gas piston?

anyone know of a shot folding front sight?

I can't think of the company, but there is one out there that looks like the very top of the F-marked sight. The only difference is that it has a screw to clamp it to a rail. I also not sure as to how tall it is because I've never seen one in person either.

There are several types of front sights. You need a "same plane" setup and you likely have a front sight for a railed gas block. Same plane sights are going to be the same height when installed in a single rail. That is the way to tell. Install them next to each other and if they are the same height then they are "same plane" sights.

There is a significant difference in height, as you found out.

The most popular same plane sights out there are Magpul sights.
