Scoping a Mosin?

Depressing that friggin spring that is under the rear sight requires more than one set of hands.

I should say, it is when you are re-installing something to the rear sight base.

id dont care if i have to drill and tap .. and i would like to be able to use a normal scope

Then the RockSolid is the mount to use

If I remember correctly the Rock Solid requires the bolt handle modification. I don't think it will work with the stock handle. Definitely would be nice to use a standard scope though.

I just added a mount and scope on mine last weekend. Even with two sets of hands, I couldn't get it installed with the spring. I ended up sliding the spring out and filing the edge of the rail a bit to line up the pin hole.

No instructions were provided so I just made best guesses. The rail seems very solid without the spring. Was the spring supposed to stay in?

You would all laugh at me if I told you how I got it back together. I was putting on a mojo peep sight.
