OK so I have a cousin who is headed to Bahrain. Is there anything that y'all would recommend him taking with him?

It's an island. With fishing. Perhaps biggest tourist mecca in middle east.

Assume your cuz is military or contractor, so assume basic needs are taken care of. But hobby equipment is generally not issued.

Bug spray for the sand fleas, sunscreen, a hat, good polarized glasses, something to wrap around his face when the dust kicks up, some antacid for the food over there, tell him to go to Nando's in Manama they have some of the best chicken I've ever had.

Manama is probably still locked down, so your cousin probably wont be a getting off base. If the unrest quites down tell him to hit the Londoner Pub. Good place and out of the way.
