I have been looking at .308's and had planned on going with the LWRC REPR. I had one ordered since February but it

did not work out so I went with this. Just picked it up today so I have not had a chance to shoot it but I hope to tomorrow. Also if anyone has any optic recommendations I would like to hear them.

Great looking rifle....if your gonna use it for anything besides cqb I would recommend a nice 1.5-6x scope....like a weaver tactical or even a bushnell

Edit: Im putting my weaver 30mm super slam (german #4 reticle) 1.5-6x on my 18" Mega Arms 308

I wanted to get a 716 but I wanted an 18" barrel which they nixed for some reason or another right before release. Though it might come out later. So i built a 308 even though mine is a DI system....i figure if its good enough for LMT and the Brits it should work for me.

btw...awesome collection of guns you got there!

I run an aimpoint and a 3.5-10 Leupold Mark 4 on my .308 carbine...a good 1-4 or some of the new 1-7 and 1-8 power scopes are a good choice too. SWFA is coming out with a 1-6 I think that's pretty nice. Trijicon makes a 1-4 that rocks. Really depends on what you want to use if for. If its going to be a heavy metal carbine than a 1-4 would be fine. If you want to punch paper way out then you'll want more magnification.

I have the same rifle and i went with NIKON optics, i have 2 scopes 1 is a M223 Point Blank Reticle its is a CQB model 1-4x24 great scope and you cant beat the price at around $250.00 and the second one is the NIKON M223 2-8x32 Rapid Action Turret Nikoplex cost around $350.00 and it has great easy settings for shooting from 0 yards - 600 yards - the easiest scope i have used by far no calculations needed just zero your rifle at 50 yards and you are good to go, trust me you want be disapointed NIKON has great scopes for a good price. Go shoot that thing you will like it, cleaning is a breeze to just make sure after every shooting session to unscrew the piston assembly and clean it, it is very easy to do that but that is the part that gets dirty the most.
