Ok, so a little back story first. I traded my truck several months ago and with all of the red tape of the tag/title department, I had to track down the guy who bought my truck. That took a couple of months. I had to get his signature stating that we traded vehicles. No problem, once I found him. I also have to get the vin number of my old truck. No problem, Right? Well, not exactly, the truck has been sold already. So, now to find the vin number. I saw my truck just down from my house, so I took a pic of the vin. Not a great pic, but I think I can read it well enough to get it right. So, I have the vin and signature... but I am working so much that I don't have any time to get to the tag/title office until after closing time. When I did have time, I had no money b/c we have taken in two teens with an abusive home life.

So, I had to go into work the other night, late, like 2am kind of late. As I was coming home, I got in front of a police officer. Now, I knew I was going to get pulled over as my truck has no tag. He did, less than a half mile from my house. My Ruger .45 was in the front passenger seat and my .38 was in my console because my work is right in the middle of Highland Park here in Chattanooga. He walked up to my window and I handed him my license and my permit. At about the same time he asked "Is your firearm in the vehicle?" I said, "There is my permit, my firearm is in the passenger seat, I promise I will keep my hands on the steering wheel". He said, "Ok, Thanks. Glad you have it". I said, "I know you pulled me over b/c of my tag" and he said, "Yep, what is the story behind that?" I explained the situation and that I was going to get my tags Friday or Monday after I get paid. He said, "Well, just make sure you get it b/c you will end up getting pulled over and get a ticket, Have a good night" I appreciate him not ticketing me. Friday ended up being a BUSY day and I ended up working all day so I couldn't get my tag, but Monday, I am getting it. Glad to have friendly LEOs out there in East Ridge.
