Looks awesome. You need to stick an OD Pmag in there and see what that'd look like!

How tight is the retention on that? Tight enough to hold it upside down?

The retention is tight. Definitely hold a loaded pmag upside down. I think I actually need to loosen it up a bit, feels a little to tight.

How did you decide on the height of the carrier?

Part of it is by taking into consideration of belt loop size and spacing. On this one, i pretty much went off a picture of a RCS pmag pouch i found online and eyed it. Even though i don't' have exact dimensions, by referencing different points of the pmag, i can tell how big RCS cut theirs.

Also, on AR mags, you grab the mags with a "coke can grip," so you want a lot of of pmag exposed.

I wish I was creative and motivated enough to do some of these projects. I'm liable to end up with too many different things going at once and the old lady will notice. :rock:
