In anticipation of owning a .38 special snub nose I am thinking about what ammo I'd like to use and have on hand.

I think I'd rather use a jacketed bullet not the lrn.

Ammoman has a decent deal on some 125 grain +P speer gold dot hollow point for only $.30 a round. I thought that sounded pretty good.

I've heard the 135 gr is supposed to be nice for a snub nose...

Then there is always the wwb, but I think that is around $30 for a box of 100. Plus sales tax and the ammo tax.

???

Double-Tap makes a good carry load for the .38spl. But for plinking Georgia-Arms & Atlanta Arms are good and cheap. Sometimes you can find some surplus M41 ball ammo really cheap (I cleaned up last year, 500rd for $70 from jgsales.com).

I decided to get the 125 gr speer ammoman had. It was decent price for 1000 rds.

Sorry but the 158gr LHP +P is king in the load. It has a 25+ year history on the street and all of it is good.

After that I prefer heavy over light so the Speer Gold Dot is my other choice.
