New UMC Target Nickel Plated Brass Ammo

Recommended Posts

Anyone tried this ammo? Been seeing some ads for this & seems to be a bit cheaper

than the standard UMC ammo. Just wondering how it functions & how it works with

reloading.

My stock is getting a bit low, & I'm going to have to buy more soon. LIke the way this

ammo sounds, but haven't seen any reviews.

They've been selling it at Shooter's Depot in Chattanooga. Its been completely reliable in my G34 (fired maybe 150-200 rounds of it). As for accuracy, Its more accurate than I am, but that's not saying much ... I'm still a relatively new shooter, and I tend to jerk the trigger a little here and there, and anticipate the recoil sometimes, so YMMV.

I used it at the GSSF match at the end of March at Shooter's, and scored a 494/500 ... but the course wasn't really difficult, and 4 or 5 people scored 500/500. I blame myself, not the ammo or gun.

(the course was 10 shots each at 3 yd, 5, 7, 10, 15, each distance had a 15 second time limit, at a paper target). Time to get back to dry fire practice. Gotta get that consistent trigger pull.

Thanks, I think I'll get a couple of boxes (100 ), and give it try in my PPQ 40. From what I've read, it's supposed

to feed smoother than brass. Reloading life may be a bit shorter due to being a bit stiffer, but not a deal breaker.

Saw some at Guns & Leather in Greenbrier for $16 / 50. Cheaper than the regular UMC, Usually around $20+.

I'm sure it's more accurate than me, Most everything is, LOL
