recommend the next rifle

I love .22's. whats not to love about them? They go bang, they are inexpensive to shoot, the make holes in targets, they make cans jump about.

anyway I have a bolt action, semi auto, lever action and single shot.

what am I missing here?

recommend something specific. And don't forget, cheap is good.

CZ452 is a good bolt gun. I don't know what you have now but they are worth looking into.

You sir(I think,but not sure,so ill say ma'am also) are missing a KelTec sub 2k.Theres nothing cooler then a riffle that folds up in half

Maybe a bullpup semi-auto, such as a Walther G22.

I like the KelTec but it is DQ'd on account of it not being a .22LR

the Walther is WOW outta-site. But a touch more than I would want to spend. Am going to keep that on the list but it is a back burner. I think i have to sell a couple of things to afford that.

Already got a bolt mw but a CZ would be on the radar if I did not have a bolt action.

Actually that CZ is very similar to my Savage, just costs a bit more.

Dunno about suppressed. Can that be added to any or all of the existing .22's I have? Or does it have to be specific to one particular rifle?

The Model 62 is very interesting. A Winchester is a bit high dollar buyt the Taurus looks nice. Might have to reasearch that one. Seems I could sell something I already have to afford that one.

Well, you can get a threaded barrel, and a screw-on can for the suppressor.

Anyone got one of these without their locking system? Some rifles look great blued, others in stainless. This in stainless made my heart go flutter.

If I remember correctly Rossi made some of those up in the 80's might be possible to find a used one and save a little. I think they called them gallery guns, can't remember if they broke down or not. Turning 50 ain't easy.

how about a henry U.S. Survival AR-7? its a bolt action but the barrel, action and spare magazine can be stored in the stock.

or a Sako Quad? also bolt action but has a system of quick change barrells to have .22LR, .22WMR, .17HMR, or .17HM2 all in one rifle with only a barrell swap.

I have shot the Henry Survival rifle before. It is a pretty nice little .22

Very convenient how it all packs into the stock of the rifle.

I think i really like the Pump action rifle. That Taurus is awesome looking. I am just not sure about the internal lock they use. I would love to find a used Winchester pump. But I am not sure of the price will be in line or not.

Not to matter really anyway. This thing is a month or more down the road.

i am debating offering up my Remington Sport 12 Pump shotty and 100 rounds of ammo for sale to finance a new rifle. Dunno what I would get for it though. I am not so much a fan of shooting shotguns. But I sure love the 22's

That Taurus looks sweet! Looks old timey too. I like that! If it shoots anything like a Winchester pump I shot once, it'll be a great rifle! I can't remember if the Winchester was a takedown rifle or not. That could be a handy little feature.

Is there a way to disable the lock system on a Taurus?

If you don't have a pre-1990 Marlin 39A, I would recommend one of those.

I suggest a Ruger Mini-14. They are fun to shoot, very effective and you can a lot of add on accessories if you are into that.

You need to just build an AR from a kit, with your grandson helping you and learning. Then just add a .22 conversion kit to it, if that is your taste.

I am not so much a fan of the EBR really. I think they are overpriced big time.

Actually a lot of firearms are overpriced IMHO. Not sure why either.

I bought a neet rifle a while back. It is the Mossberg Plinkster. It was very inexpensive. It feeds from a single stack magizine from the bottem. It is 22lr and a blast to shoot.

I've had 2 of the Rossi 62's (so, I'm a slow learner). They were a hoot to shoot. For some reason selling them both made sense at the time.

I'd consider a Contender. They are a bit spendy up front, but, they allow some really neat options.
