I just picked this gun up last night. It has a cylinder and slide trigger, Ed Brown beavertail, hammer, and mainspring. It looks like it has been reparked after the work was done. Anywho, I dediced I wanted to give making grips a go. Here is my first try so be easy on me! Anyone else have any pics of grips they made?

Its curly claro walnut. I use it alot on my knives. Looks much better in person.

Nice looking grip's for a nice looking pistol. It's not hard to tell that you've shaped enough knife handles to make making grip panels easy.

Thanks guys, yeah, grips on this gun are not much different than doing a knife. I thought I would jack up the holes but luckily I nailed it the first time! I have about 200 or so sets of bookmatched scales and blocks so Im going to do a few more soon. Here are a few blocks that I have that I think would work great on a gun.

Grips look great! I really like the pistol as well. Do you have any checkering tools? I'd like a nice set of checkered officer's grips.

Thanks guys. I do have a checkering file that I use for jimpinh on knives. Ill have to play around with it and a dremel to see if I can get a decent texture. I would not be at all confident enough to sell these things. Im gonna make a couple more sets and pay better attention to hole sizing and depth. These were an hour project just to see if I could do it and I learned a few things that will make them better.

Awesome!! I love seeing local talent as well! I lack a steady hand so I always admire crafting talent. Great first set.

Good looking carry gun. Just enough of the right mods to enhance shooting. Nice set of grips as well.
