Is it legal to carry into a liquor store?

One store owner said his insurance company required them to post the out-dated sign about fines if caught carrying in the store. He knew the law, was fine with HCP owners shopping while carrying, just frustrated by the insurance company.

I've heard several business owners say it's the "Insurance Companies", not the law....well.....

There is one of those signs at the liquor store beside Alcoa Walmart. I can't remember the name of it.

I tried to explain to them it had no force of law but they didn't want to try to understand so I let it go.

I have made it a point to "know" the law on where I CAN and CAN'T carry for just such run in's with the ignorant. Although it is annoying when misinformed people try and call you out if you are made, it is better to know the law and be able to refute them if they are wrong and educate them on the correct law. I carry concealed mostly but if my shirt comes over it I usually don't catch it or realize it. As others have stated, better to just leave than to inform some places, as they just might post and make it worse for us all.

Carry concealed or better yet, leave your gun in the car when you go inside. It's ok......I personaly feel that if they don't want me to carry while inside....I'm more than willing to let the "bad guy' put a knife to their throat and rob them...that's on them, less of a worry to me...."be careful what you ask for".....

Don't think I'd leave it in the car. What stops the bad guy from putting the knife to your throat? Or worse using your gun he stole out of your car?
