For those who haven't heard, a state-of-the-art armory is coming to Nashville (located right off I-65 close to 100 Oaks Mall). The Nashville Armory will be a 15,000 square foot facility with two ranges and a total of 16 lanes. Massive retail area, NRA certified instructors and absolute top of the line targetry systems. Set to open in June/July.

I was really excited a few months ago when I first heard about this, but am not crazy about the recent developments.

Exciting. Hopefully they will become a Vendor here on TGO. It almost sounds like you have an inside track, so be sure to pass that along to them. :)

How so?

A few months ago there was a minority partner, with experience in the business. That party backed out because of the direction the operation was headed.

I only heard one side of the story, so please don't think that I am trying to speak ill of anyone. I was just really excited when I first heard about the project and who was involved. Now I am less enthused.

At the end of the day, I hope it works out and we get a first class facility.

I thought that was it, I know the same story. Probably a good use of discernment.

I hope the NA does well. It's close to my house.

Yeah Im good friends with the owner and going to be helping with a few of the logistics, I think they are currently working on setting up pricing on a membership model, and also day passes for the range time..Will sell new and used guns, and have a members lounge.. Pistol and rifle bays and also we will have automatic weapons to rent..(should be fun =)...)

This is great for south Nashville! Love it, only wish it was 24/7 with an access pass.

Hello All,

My name is Brian Manookian, I am one of the owners of the Nashville Armory. I wanted to introduce myself personally to the forum. As was previously mentioned, we're opening a 15,000 square foot firearms complex with range, retail area, and training center in mid-August. It's located on Kenilwood Drive past Mister Tee's Patio Furniture. The property fronts I-65, and there is currently a Coming Soon banner out front. If you drive by this week you should start to see some of the heavy machinery appearing on site.

We've contracted with Action Target (actiontarget.com) to do the range install. We are putting in two bays of 8 lanes apiece (16 total lanes). One bay is pistol and shotgun. The second bay will handle anything up to 50 BMG. We are using the Total Containment Trap with deceleration chamber, and we are putting in a top of the line Navy-spec ventiliation system. The targetry system is the brand new MANCOM wireless system just released at the most recent SHOT show. It's all touchpad operated with 360 degree turning targets and programmable sequences. This will give us the ability to run shooting leagues, etc.

I could go on and on about the retail area, classroom, and lounge but the website will be up in a week or so with better descriptions than I can provide here, as well as the blueprints and renderings.

quietguy- I've been on this project for close to two years. There are only two partners and only ever have been. I'm the minority partner. I think you may have received some bad info, but feel free to PM me if I can clear anything up. I'd love to have you stop in and check us out once we get opened, and I hope your excitement isn't damped at all by the owners. We are good guys and are committed to making this a venue Tennessee Gun Owners will be proud of.

thundersnow- I wish we could do 24/7 access as well, but there are insurance and liability issues that we just can't get around. That said, we will have a ton of after hours, private event opportunities for our members.

We're putting together a very solid team of professionals for our staff, but are still looking for men and women to work the floor and serve as Range Safety Officers. If you know of anyone, please feel free to shoot me an email at brian@nashvillearmory.com

Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself. If I can answer any questions, let me know. I'm excited to meet the middle Tennessee members and I hope you like what we're putting together.

Brian, thanks for the information. Sounds like a facility we'd all like to be involved with. Sure hope all goes well in the construction phases.

Please keep us updated from time to time. I, and everyone else here, would be most appreciative of it.

Thanks again. Look forward to your opening.

hipower- We will definitely keep everyone updated on the construction progress, and look forward to meeting you all once we open.

tripledigitride- Yes sir, although I'm practicing a lot less law lately while I'm getting my crash course in commercial construction.

As much as I love Guns and Leather, it will be nice to have a quality range that's a good bit closer to where I'm at.

Wow, an attorney running a gun shop/shooting range. That's cool  Safe bet all your "I's" are dotted and "T's" are crossed.

It's very convenient to the gun show too! I bet you get a lot of sat. afternoon business from the "I bought a new toy" crowd.

Any idea what membership is going to cost? I hope it's affordable. I'd love to come play.

....as far as affordable, I think everyone should be a little understanding about what an ENORMOUS...MONSTROUS investment needs to be recooped here. I understand that completely....but please be gentle.

Brian - thanks for coming by and letting us know what is going on. I am even more excited now that you have done so. Considering I work in Grassmere Park I foresee lots of lunch time visits in my future.

Please look at becoming a Vendor on here as TGODavid mentioned.
