Wow. I figured Springfield would come out with a tiny single stack 9 like everyone else. So what do they have in the pipeline? Check this out:

http://xdspistol.com/specs.php

Just a smidge bigger than an LC9 (+0.3" length, +0.1" width, -0.1" height) and you get 6 rounds of .45ACP.

Daaaaayuuuum.

They showed that at shot show and everyone was impressed with how little the recoil it has. Supposedly it is supposed to be in production this year.

Can't wait- I told the guys at Tri-Cities gun depot to call me when the price is set. I want one ASAP. Six rounds of .45 in a small package would make a great summer gun (although i think they will be late to that party)

This is one gun that i will be getting as soon as they are available. Springfield doesnt have a rep of doing recalls on new guns so ill give this a shot.

Its gonna be a bit big for pocket carry i think but perfect for the summer either iwb or owb.

As far as pocket carry I believe the weight will turn me off more than the size. I pocket carried a G26/27 for a long time comfortably. The XDS is thinner but a hair taller than a G26/27.

Seen several pics, and the gun looks interesting. Will have to hold and feel one before deciding to buy. Then the street pricing will determine how seriously I want one.

looks nice......Id like to see more 40cal's slims on the market personally,an extra round and thinner platform

Smith is also coming out with one next week, prolly a single stack M&P 9MM

Haven't see one in person, but D & T Arms says its COMING anytime now....... Thanks to Dave and all @ D & T for their professional and great environment and service!

I have mine reserved at the Outpost, well I told them to save me one when they come in wel see. I think it is going to be a real toss up between the XD-S and my Kahr P-45 the XD-S is a bit shorter so I might need a grip extension but I want one for sure, I mean come on a small single stack 45 with a grip safety trigger safety and 6 rds of 230 grain stopping power.....woo hoo!

I saw this today on another site for the first time. Thought about selling my Kahr CW40 to get one of these... Decisions Decisions. I have a .45 XD and this would be a nice addition.

Isn't it a 5+1. This would be an excellent inside the pants gun.

For some reason I'm not that excited for the XDS. I would probably just got with a 3 in 1911. Just my opinion though. I'm sure they will be a good seller.
