Anybody else watch this show? I think it is one of the best on right now. The 2nd season got started this past Sunday night and it looks like it is gonna be a good one.

Man I want to punch "King" Joffrey right in face.

I hope Ned's youngest daughter pokes him in the balls with her little sword.

The show is great stuff. Hard not to like something with female nudity in it. Especially when they really don't need to show it.

I dig the imp too. He is not scared of much of anything.

Ive read all the books and am awaiting the next. Too much sex and too little action, really, but they are entertaining enough. I wont say much since I am probably about 5 years ahead of the show on the timeline....

Alas, joffery has a different fate, but no spoilers, all I gots to say is I think you will be pleased with it.

Tyrion is my favorite character.

Never heard of it, but it sounds good. The wife and I really enjoyed the "Rome" series. This sounds similar and she likes that medieval "Braveheart / King Aurthur / LOTR" stuff. And there's certainly nothing wrong with a little gratuitous nudity. :) Perhaps we'll check it out when Netflix picks it up.

PJ, the sex is in the books to the NTH degree. The tv show can't possibly be anywhere near that level unless its a porno.

the young daughter is a good one too. As is john snow.

Yep, your right on that one. I have read the first three books, and the sex is way more graphic than what is on the show.

I watched the entire first season. While not quite as good as HBO's "John Adams" miniseries, it was very good.

I read the first 4 books before they even announced the show, I have been trying to re-read them so that I can fall in line with reading the 5th without a big break. At this point I have forgotten many details since there is so much stuff going on at once. I am at least pleased the show keeps the story of the books pretty accurately, most of what you lose from not reading the books is all the internal thought process of many of the characters.

For those that haven't read the books, the author writes solely from the perspective of the characters. Each chapter is from a perspective of a different character. So you get to see the inner workings of what is going on in Tyrion's mind, for example. Gives a whole new level to character development throughout the story as the characters change.

That girl is one bad a**! I think her character will grow into a leader.

I watched all the first season. I would like to see the second season, but for an extra $15 a month on direct tv, I'll just save my money and buy the second season later.

Started watching it on VOD a couple weeks ago. I'm about 5 episodes into it. It's pretty good and I'm looking forward to seeing more but it doesn't have me as hooked as Justified and S.O.A.

I have read the first book and am on the second right now. Uverse is offering HBO free for 3 months so I signed up and am catching up on season 1 using On Demand. As far as netflix, you can use it to get the discs by mail, but not stream it. In fact, I don't know of any of the HBO shows that can be streamed, I think I read that HBO views Netflix as competition and that is why they don't do licensing with Netflix for streaming content.

I'm half way thru the first book and up to date with the show. Absolutely great stuff! As good as it is to "see" things happen, nysos hit the nail on the head about how the book is written giving you glimpses into characters' minds. Both are awesome compliments to each other.

I'm really starting to like Tyrion quite a bit, especially since the trashy queen hates him too.

I've always liked him, however in my opinion the Starks seem like a bunch of sissies to me except Arya.

Jon grows a pair and starts to have a good story in the other books. He is my favorite character of the starks. I also like Tyrion, Jorah Mormont, and Bronn the mercernary.

Ned was not a sissy, just an idiot. He was too blinded by friendship to the king and the king's family to see until it was too late. He figured it out, and was going to act, about the time everything blew up.

Brandon is no sissy. Crippled, but he will be of great interest soon.

John snow is pretty tough. Just takes a while for his story to kick in, hes in limbo for the first half of the series.

the other little girl may yet learn some reality of the world and change her ways. Time will tell. She is not very likable for quite a while.

I guess I should rephrase it, as for the Starks that are alive, in the present (of the series). I guess I only find Rob Stark (Compared to his father, maybe I just flat out don't like rob?) and the older sister (she kind of has to sit aside and bear the pain). I need to catch up on the books but I don't want to get too far ahead. John Snow is ok, like you said not much is reviled about him and he does hold an awkward position in the Stark family as the Bastard. Sunday can not come soon enough.

Bronn is definitely a badass. I wish the Mountain and the Hound would play bigger roles. Maybe they do? I don't know... :panic:

I also do not like rob. He is an idiot. Sissy does not fit, but idiot is a perfect match.
