The last paragraph is the important. At least it's acknowledged

The only thing NBC is sorry for is that they got caught.

Yes, this is an actual crime. I wonder if any law enforcement will look into it. Doubtful. Apparently, the so-called "media" can say whatever it wants and call it 'news'. I suppose they could even get away with yelling FIRE in a theater if they called it a news story. That's exactly what happened here. They had an agenda and tried to manipulate an outcome by falsifying data (audio recording). That is a crime.

We have "news" organizations blowing up Chevy trucks, creating fake documents to discredit GW Bush and doctoring 911 tapes....I'm no journalist but I actually had a journalism course in college and I do remember being taught that the truth and accuracy was supposed to be the guiding principles of a story. Obviously that hasn't been the case for a long time.

Exactly. The Freedom of The Press used to mean something. The press used to be the unofficial 4th branch of government, the watchdog against injustice, fraud, lies and crime. Remember things 50 or 100 years ago that would have been seen as a "scandal"? Morals and ethics have degraded so badly that what was once taboo generations ago is done and said in public on the streets nowadays. The so-called "press" is pathetic. They are a single-party organization now, an arm of the liberal democrat party. They are simply there to carry the water, spread lies, obfuscate and misdirect. Modern so-called "media" is NOT interested in the truth. And most so-called "journalists" are uneducated morons who can barely form a coherent sentence. Read any news story in the lame-stream media, it's more opinion than fact, and many of the facts that one would look for in the story are very often missing (who, what, when, where, why, how). They are uneducated, but they did go to college or journalism school and become indoctrinated. Nothing like paying good money to not be taught 'how' to think, but told what to think.

It is really the fault of technology in my opinion. Once there were a few papers and a couple news hours. Now we have a whole bunch of 24 hour networks, bloggers, websites, etc. directed to only news. Problem is their is not enough news out their. they are all fighting for ratings. regular news is boring. they bend the truth, which i don't agree with, and keep giving us doom and gloom to keep people watching to get better ratings to make more money. I am a member of the media and I still think the media is crap and don't trust the media. They skew things to get ratings to make money. Truth is none of them care about reporting news anymore. All they try to do is to say anything to keep people watching/listening/reading to get more ratings and make more money etc. It is all about money. They only reason they are around is to make money. They found out that doing this type of stuff helps them make money. Which is why you rarely hear good stories in any type of news, and if you do it is wrapped with doom and gloom. It is all about what sells.
