Guys, I Want to pull scope and return to peep sites for my .44mag 1894. I had williams wgrs sites before. I liked they initially, but later disliked. I want something that is well made and fits the character of a lever action.

Marbles, Lyman, or XS sight. The tang sights looks great and fit the lever action period look and are adjustable. Between the Marbles and the Lyman, I'd say the Marbles. It's adjustable for elevation AND windage, while the Lyman you have to shim for windage.

Thanks for leads. After looking, i thinki want something that uses existing holes in top of receiver. Also, I don't want to changeout front sight.

Xs looks good, but am I reading correctly thatbid have to replace front blade together height correct .

I've not seen a skinner in person,so can I ask a few questions. Can I retain factory front site. Ate they finished nicely? Do they look ok when mounted?

I don't have a 1894 ....Yet! 1894 in .357 next on my list.

But I have a 39a with the regular blued Skinner on it. For me it does still fit the flavor of a lever gun. It works with my factory front sight and clears my fold down factory rear sight. I later ordered one of the fine apertures and find it the best for me. Both of my orders shipped the same day I ordered and was in my hands in three days. Install was almost too easy.

A pic of it installed on my 1982 39a

Great. Looks great. That pic helped a lot. Issue site a skinner express or standard. It looks slightly longer than someof the others I have seen.

Thanks again for the pic, I think you guys have pointed me inthe right direction.

They don't really have as many models for the 39a. Mostly only color options. The 1894 has a few different models available.

If you have not yet checked out their website:

I will say that the results with front sights seem to differ. You might try emailing him directly with your gun specifics and he might be able to tell you if it will work or not. The Marlin Owners forum also has a lot of information/activity on the Skinner sights.
