Ruger customer service A+

Ok, yesterday I was cleaning my LCP and while I was putting in the spring/guide rod it slipped and the rod shot out somewhere in my apartment. :doh:I heard it hit somewhere in my kitchen (directly behind me) so I went and looked for FOR 2 HOURS and couldn't find it. I swear, I pulled out every appliance and looked under and above everything to no avail.

Well, this morning I called Ruger to see I could buy a replacement rod since nobody in town has parts for the LCP or P3ATs. I told the lady that I spoke to what happened expecting to pay $5-10 for the part but she just sent me another rod free of charge! I work for a cell phone company in the retention department so it really made my day to have a good customer service experience. Just thought you all would like to know!

Have had similar experience with Ruger customer service. I over tightened a screw and cracked my grips on my Super Blackhawk Hunter. I called and asked to buy new grips after I told them what I did. They sent me a new pair of grips free.

A+

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Ruger customer service... the only negative is that I needed them in the first place. :taser:

So... remember I called Ruger on Monday and they said that it would be 2 days before my guide rod went out. Well, my roommate calls me today to tell me that the mailboxes at our apartment complex are on fire. I thought to myself, "how am I going to explain to Ruger customer service that I never received my new rod because my mailbox burned down?" Yeah, so tonight I crossed the police tape to check my mail and sure enough there she was... wet from being doused by the fire department and smelling like a piece of smoked pork. I opened the package and not only did it include the rod but also the 2 springs as well! Well done Ruger! I've never been a fan of most of the Ruger line but I may get the Ruger MK3 over the Buckmark based solely on my customer service experience. I hope most other firearm manufacturers do business like this! Any of you had any similar experiences with other companies? Any bad ones?

More companies should have customer service like that. Very few companies, no matter what the industry put that kind of effort into customer service. Makes me want to start looking at some Rugers.

I've owned several Rugers over the years and have never needed their customer service, but it's good to know it's so good. Years ago I liked Ruger just fine but I thought of them as being somewhat inferior to some other gun manufacturers such as Colt and Smith & Wesson but in recent years I consider them to be as good or better than any available.

Have had Rugers for years, and I have never yet had to use customer service. I hope it continues, but mechanicals being mechanicals, I suspect that I will need to sometime, my single-six is thirty years old.

Yeah I have also had to call Ruger a few times. Mostly to check on Dates of Firearms I have bought, but also I ordered parts for my 1965 Standard .22 pistol. After I received the parts I had to call them back because the Plunger was too long, and the lady explained to me that it was a "basic" plunger and all I had to do is snip the back of it off with wire cutters and it would work in my gun.

The only other company I have dealt with that is equal to Ruger's Customer Service is Glock. Those are some nice people down in GA.
