HELL YEAH! Lucky for that guy he had a tall backpack on or he would've been dead before the bear intervened.

Sounds like quite a character. The cellulitis he's gonna get from those wounds may make him think twice about the doctor.

I was thinking the same, but would it be possible if he had been in the area a lot and the bear didn;t consider him a threat due to familiarity?

I'm not a bear psychologist and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I call BS on that.. sorry..

NO mother bear will allow a human to play patty cake with its cubs..

Yeah, if a cub was involved, she'd kill everything with a heartbeart and knockdown a small tree or two.

Personally, I think the article left out the beginning of the guy's story. My thought is that his account actually started out with:

"I was just walking along, eating these funny looking mushrooms I found when..."
