I feel good

Went out and did a little range time today. my best friend, his girlfriend, her little brother and I had a great time. The weather was great, we never waited for a bench, just the ideal range day.

I was quite proud today, it was the girlfriends brothers first time firing and when we got there my buddy told him "go with Nick, listen to what he says, watch him and he will teach you to shoot." That felt really good, not just to have my friends trust but to be able to have a part in creating a true enthusiasm that I think judging by today will last a lifetime for the boy.

We got him involved with a few different guns today starting and ending with my newish mk3 which was a big hit with everyone. In between we got him shooting a few .38s, a couple of 9mms, and even the Garand! He didnt want to shoot the 30-06 because of the noise and visible recoil, but we had a few

words on facing fears and he went for it.

I couldn't help but to be amused because out of the nine or so guns we brought, he really seemed to have the best time with my Romanian M69 little bolt action. I don't mind, heck the ammo doesn't get any cheaper than that! Funny thing is the mag for that disapeared years ago so it's not what alot of twelve year olds would consider cool or fun.

At the end of the day I am happy. My thumbs are sore from loading magazines, but I am happy.
