Hello - I'm the oldfella, you can also call me Pete. I'll try to pop in here and add my two cents as much as possible. I am old, my hands are a bit shaky, but I will continue to hone my shooting skills as long as I am able to get to the range - and I will continue to defend the Second Amendment as long as I am able to talk and write. I am into revolvers (S&W), as I am no longer able to rack the slide on semi-autos. Y'all take care, you hear?

Pete

(where is the doggone spell-check here?)

Hello Pete, and welcome. I lived near Tullahoma (several miles out in the country) about a half a century ago. I don't remember knowing a Pete, but it's good to have an old neighbor aboard.

Thanks for making me feel at home, fellers.

Glad to have you! Nice to see you're from my neck of the woods, where do you usually go to shoot?

BTW, the spell checker is a small icon on the upper right of the editor window.

Thanks for the SpelChecker heads-up... I shoot mostly at the Arnold Air

Base Range, when it's not being used by the National Guard. I also use one of three private rages in Manchester and nearby there for 5 bucks an hour - although I shoot less than an hour, as I get tired easily, it takes me longer to set-up than to shoot. Lately I'm shooting mostly .22s, since the price of ammo is out of range, and for the little I shoot is not worth my getting into reloading. I recetly acquired Ruger's new 10 inch bbl "Charger"; it's so much fun it's almost boring. Take care friends.

Are you a member of the Highland Rim Shooting Club? I've often considered joining that, but never know when the range is actually available.

I shoot at Terry Walden's mostly, drive a green Camaro, if you see me be sure to say 'hi'.

Yes, I am a member of Highland Rim - $15 yearly dues. They will send you an email whenever the National Guard is using the range. I find Terry Walden's a bit too far - actually, I never used Terry's, I prefer to go to Tommy Lea's shooting range on Cat Creek Road, he has a covered area for handgun shooting.

Nice, the NG range is only 10min from my house. I'll have to make an effort to do that.

I've been to Tommy's range, but not for several years... I can never manage to go there when someone is actually there, I'm not sure when it is 'open', since my understanding is that you have to check in or make an appointment... how do you coordinate with him?

Call Tommy @ 728-7006, leave message on his machine, you'll hear his wife's voice (Died last year), ask him if you can use the range on (time & day), tell him I put you up to it (Pete, the Oldfella), he'll return your call.
