The Safe House

Recommended Posts

I acquired a safe the other day from a friend of mine who recovered it from an abandoned house that was about to be demo'd. It is a Liberty Freedom Safe, not sure how old. The house had caught fire in another section and the safe had 2 burn marks, some soot, smoke and water stains inside and out, (I think it was open when the house caught fire), otherwise in good condition. My buddy talked to the contractor that was to demo the house and he said my buddy could have the safe. We contacted Mark at The Safe House in Nashville and he said he would try to get the combo using the serial number and he did. We took the safe to Mark on Tuesday and he tried a couple of times to get it open to no avail, no biggie, neither of us had anything in it except a little time. I left Mark a business card and he said he would try a few things and would let me know if he got it opened. About 2 hours later I got a call and it was Mark saying he got it open. I asked what I owed him and he replied with a VERY reasonable charge for opening. When I picked it up yesterday, i asked Mark if there was anything I needed to repair from the minor damage and he said it just needed a little elbow grease and it would be fine. The seals were not damaged, and like I said before, 2 minor burn marks on the door, and some smoke and water stains. I got it home yesterday and broke out some elbow grease and got it cleaned up, (sorry, was too tired to take pics).

That being said, the guys at The Safe House are great! Mark was very honest about being able to get it opened, and was even willing to take it in to train other locksmiths how to drill locks if he couldn't get it opened. And when he did open it, he charged me a minimal fee to do so.

If you or someone you know needs a safe of any kind, I recommend The Safe House in Nashville. I will be telling everyone I know about The Safe House.

Sorry for the long post, but wanted everyone to know what good folks they are down there.

I know they have gotten blasted on the forum occasionally, but I have always had great interactions with them in person. Reasonable prices, great service, and a willingness to spend the time to make sure you get what you need.

To be fair, most of the "blasting" I have noticed has come from one of their competitors.

Is this the same company as. Nashvillesafehouse.com? If it is thanks for a recommendation. I was just talking about getting a safe for when I move since my collection is growing :) . Is it ok to keep in a garage?

Yep, that's them. I've got mine in the garage.
