Good, yet inexpensive, blackpowder flintlock kit?

I'm interested in getting a flintlock muzzleloader kit, any suggestions? I'm not real picky on the style, either hawken or kentucky rifle. I prefer it to be fairly inexpensive, but of decent quality and .45 cal or larger. I used to shoot black powder with my dad and grandfather years ago, but its been quite awhile.

Good luck. Seems like all the BP kits have gotten pretty expensive, kind of shocked me when I starting looking at BP again a couple weeks ago.

Unless you are good working with wood and have a lot of patience i think buying a finished product more advisable.

I would buy from out of state if possible. The freakin crooks in nashville get enough of my money already. No need to payextra in taxes if I can avoid it. That said I have bought from Dixie many times.

Go with the Lyman best on the market for the price.

Just remember on this kind of rifle the first 20 are so rounds will shoot good then it will open up a lot. then around about 100 to a 120 rounds it will tighten up then you are ready. I have had Lyman plains that after 150 rounds will keep it on a 10" plate at 200 yards.

I may try to build one from scratch, both my dad and grandfather have built theirs from the ground up, just had someone build their breach and barrel. I remember shopping Dixie Gun Works catalog back in the day, Call of the Wolf as well. Flintlock is worth the extra work in my opinion. Nothing like it. I remember getting everyone together for a shoot and tomahawk throw. You don't hear about Rendezvous anymore.
