EAA witness??

does anybody have one? how do you like it? are they reliable?

i never hear much about them but the fact that they can interchange with just a slide and magazine swap to 9mm, .40S&W, .45ACP, 10mm, .38Super, and even .22LR on the same frame i think is awesome.

im interested in a 10mm version.

also what is a good price on one, there is a LNIB one for $395 that i found, steel frame-10mm. good/average/not?

I have one. It's essentially a CZ-75. Yes they are accurate and very reliable. They are heavy, not a great carry weapon. Mine has a blued slide and a competition stainless frame. I also have a 9x21 barrel for mine.

They are very versatile, can be carried cocked and locked or hammer down, double action first pull. The safety also has a decocker on it.

Mine is still very tightly fitted as it was set up for comp a long time ago. They are one of the most comfortable pistols IMO you will ever shoot.

I was thinking of getting one a few weeks ago, but they sold it;. Looked like a well made gun and hard to find much bad about EAA, from my searches anyway.

Back in the early 90s they were the hot IPSC gun.If you plan on shooting less than 25-30K rds through them they will be fine.Past that they tend to break parts.Hence the reason they were only popular in IPSC for a few years.

no, i wouldnt be shooting that much through it.

just be something to go shoot at the range every once in a while. i would like to pick up a compact polymer frame version for concealed carry when i get my permit

yep, had one and traded it for a rifle. wish id never done it. Ill probably get another. very accurate handgun fits my hand almost perfect. I had the compact 9mm.it came with two mags one was short for concealment the other about an inch longer with a finger groove at the base. Tanfoglio is a well known gun in europe, used alot in competition. had good sights, quick target aquisition. The only dealers i know that carry them are greenbriar guns and leather and franklin gun shop. greenbriars cheaper. hope this helped.

I had the Witness Compact in polished frame. .40S&W. It was very accurate and reliable, but as was previously mentioned, it was very heavy and difficult to carry. Finding any accessories - holsters, etc.- is nearly impossible. I did extensive research on the comparison with the CZ75, but the holster options, etc. are not interchangeable. I traded it for an XD SC .40 and am well pleased.

Nice guns you just don't see them around much. As they said the 10mm-38 super full size are a lot of gun to carry cause of weight. I like the lock and cock carry ability.

As for parts breaking when round count gets up arond 30k. With CZ 75 SP01's picking up in USPSA etc after I got one for production. The guys just carry extra slide stops with are pretty cheap. Seemed to be what would break on the CZ.

The standard size Witness is interchangeable with the CZ 75 for holsters and such. I used numerous holsters for the CZ with mine. Now that it has the comp frame I can't because the trigger guard is larger. I've never shot a polymer frame Witness so I have no opinion of them.

Another reason I saw for the breakage was IMO the high use of the 9x21 back in the day, often people who used the standard 9x19 then put the other in for comp and often forgot to change springs and such. That's just what I saw, perhaps there were other issues. I think the reason they stopped using them for comp so much was newer, lighter opportunities.
