Worked on my garage some this weekend...

Did some work on my garage...it's coming along. Built a 15.5' shelf in the front that could hold a pair of motorcycles if you could get them up there :)

Also picked up 10' of wall and base cabinets for cheap on Craigslist. Been wanting to add cabinets for a while now and there will do the job. Probably going to repaint them at some point and will definitely be replacing the temporary plywood countertop I put on them, but they're already SO nice to have. I'll probably be mounting the wall cabinets this weekend.

Going to add under-cabinet lighting and a bunch of electrical outlets in the near future as well. And eventually decide on what I want to do for flooring. Either industrial epoxy or maybe some PEI 5 tile. Anyone ever laid down the heavy duty epoxy? I'd do that in a minute if I had someone experienced to help out.

Thanks! I've got a coax cable dangled through the wall that is just BEGGING to have a flat screen attached to it...:)

Maybe after I finish the current projects and add another big shelf over the garage door. It's just me and my wife, so we don't need a ton of storage, but it's cheap to add, nice to have and is huge for resale in our very family-oriented neighborhood. lose very l

Cabinets look good. My garage is half-finished (no floor), but, due to lack of funds I've been forced to move my stuff into it and work around the clutter. I'd LOOOOVE to have a clean, organized place to work on all my projects.

Have you decided what you want to do for flooring when the time comes?

My garage got horribly cluttered over the winter, so this re-org was long overdue. Finding the cabinets while I was building the shelf was a huge bonus that kinda pushed the general cleanup to a full on project.

Probably some sort of epoxy coating. I build motorcycles from the frame up (cafe's and streetfighters, mostly), among other things, so I have a lot of metalworking tools and need something that'll stand up to the amount of sparks a lot of them throw.

To my knowledge, the big thing with epoxy floors is to follow the instructions to the letter. Don't use the box store crap, get a good quality system and expect to pay for it. The floor must be very, very clean and you must etch the concrete prior to application. Then let it dry for several days before using it.

A light color (white) is best for lighting, but obviously shows dirt the most. Adding a little flake can help with that. Don't get black... it makes it really hard to find little stuff you drop.
