The 100% electronic O'Dwyer VLe "Smart Gun"

O'Dwyer VLe "Smart Gun" is to incorporate biometric authorising technology that should enable it to meet new US requirements for "personalised" handguns according to a joint release from Metal Storm and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).Legislation passed last year in the State of New Jersey requires that "three years after it is determined that personalized handguns are available for retail purposes, it will be illegal-. for any dealer or manufacturer to sell, assign or transfer any handgun unless that handgun is a personalized handgun". The States of New York, Ohio and Tennessee as well as the US Congress, are understood to be preparing similar legislation..

Good luck with all this. I don't see it happening for a very long time. For one guns would be pointless if everyone in a household didn't have one because only the person can control their own gun. Military, Leo are all out because If they need to use their partners weapon or fellow soldier that won't work cause it's not their gun. I don't see this manufacturer making any money using this plus we can still own regular guns which people would keep and hang on to.

I doubt that Tennessee will go anywhere near that legislation. That gimmick should

get "shot" down rather easily. What legislation are they referring to? Or is it that tripe

of a piece of a UN treaty. somehow or another I think Barbara Streisand is involved

in all this.

Coming out of NJ or Maryland, wouldn't you expect this? Aren't there gun laws already

quite insane?

NJ's are getting 'bout worse than NYC. At least it's pretty plain for most residents in NYC: no guns.

In NJ, like Kali, there are so many laws plus new ones pending that most gun owners are probably guilty of something whether they mean to be or not. Good example of Rand's "controlling all by making all criminals".

Let the nanny state protect us all! Jersey isn't even fun to pass through.

I wouldn't want to live there. They certainly seem to like to control the sheep.

Yep, they're one of the better examples.

From the article:

"The seven shot single barrel VLe can fire multiple rounds with a single pull of the trigger at a rate equivalent to 60,000 rounds per minute so that a three shot burst appears to be a single shot."

Multiple shots from a single function of the trigger makes it a machine gun. And there is no way to legally sell this thing to a citizen as there are no new machine guns for public sale made after 5/19/1986. Unless Congress changes the law, it's not going to be available to the public. Once again, we are prohibited from owning something new.

I'm still waiting for my full-auto railgun. No explosion, so it is legally not a 'firearm'.

This product is probably being brought to you by the same jack_a##es that developed the firing pin signature.

Once again, don't deal with the criminals, heavens no! They're not responsible for their behavior anyway. It's their rough childhood, or the twinkies, or global warming, etc.

The government wants these damned guns to be able to outgun all us redneck right-winged

extremists. Trouble is, they can't reload those POS's fast enough.

Wonder if that gets me on another list? Ah, I don't care anyway.
