New 1911's in the collection

Well my parents were down visiting from Cincinnati this weekend and like always I took dad shooting. He doesn't get out much to do it unless I'm around. I took him to see the guys at D&T Arms, because I like stopping by there when I'm in the area. While I was there I picked up a Colt 1911-22. Story behind that is it's licensed by Walther and imported by Umarex...I think I got that right, David explained it to me. So thanks to the guys at D&T for another great experience and another nice weapon in the collection. Here it is:

Dad and I added it to the batch of pistols we were taking to shoot at G&L in Hendersonville today. Right out of the box, no cleaning, a little RemOil and a box of mixed Federal, Remington and CCI's, it ran everything. It didn't like the CCI Stingers very much, they are for my 10/22, but it still ran them. It was fairly accurate as well, I was having a bit of an off day but at the 10 yard line (back of the G&L H range) it would hold a 3 inch group no problem. I'll get on my game and post some pictures of some good groupings later.

On top of that, at the end of February I picked up a RIA 2011 Tactical 1911. I've been tinkering with it and it is still a work in progress. I just installed some new Novak sights on it last night that I had to try out. Since getting it it's been slightly polished so I could see how it looks, it's got a Wilson Combat extended slide release and oversized magazine release, a Smith & Alexander magazine well, an EFK Dragon compensator and some Raasco Dymondwood grips added to it. I still have some new springs to put into it, a new barrel, a nice cerakote graphite black finish on it and it should be good to go. It shoots great, still needs some sight adjustment and another trip to the range after that. Here is what I have so far, mind you it's not done yet:
