I've never seen the "rules" that detailed. Is that from eBay's site? Indeed, this is seems to be newly amended.

Aha, found it, indeed updated on site:

Thanks for the notice. You'd think this would be something they're feed ya as new policy when you have a seller account, but no.

I guess they finally decided that the extra revenue outweighs perceived legal culpability.

Didn't initially see anything about how hicap mags are handled. Maybe the states where they are banned are automatically nuked from bidding/buying, dunno.

EDIT: hmm, don't know how it's controlled, maybe when you list, but I don't see anything but 10 rounder and less listed. Quick glance through 10/22 and Mini14 mags have nothing over 10 rounders.

EDIT2: Oh double duh: states that in the above link I posted.

Sounds like someone at eBay HQ decided they needed to recover part of the market they've lost to sites like GunBroker.

I wonder if Paypal will amend their rules to allow firearms related purchases now? Or will it be restricted purely to eBay auctions?

AFAIK, Paypal and eBay have always mirrored policies since eBay bought it.

Ebay and Paypal pretty much follow Kalifornia doctrine when dealing with firearms and accessories. I once had an auction closed b/c I was selling stripper clips for 5.56 ar-15's. Its all in the wording. The system automatically sweeps the listings and deletes based on catch phrases.

They changed quite a bit ago. There's a lot of people selling gun parts on eBay and have been for at least the past 2-3 months and that's just when I was looking on there for some. The only bad problem is that nothing is "cheaper". In fact, you'll end up paying more for them from eBay than just normally. I can get Sig Mags for $29 each and the used ones are going for over $30 before shipping on eBay which is silly considering you can grab them from CDNN for $35 new.
