Out of sheer boredom yesterday I decided to practice some jeweling. Amazing how cool it makes bare metal look. Here is the Daly 1911 and below that my SIG P239.

Should I google that or can you tell me how you jewel?

I'm a member of the guild of jewelers and we're sworn to secrecy on the process. But it's long and expensive.

Should I delete my previous post so I dont have to face the reparations of the all mighty Rabbi :P :P

No, that's a fairly common misconception put out by The Guild from time to time to confuse people....

Slow week, huh?

Terrible. I think I sold like 1 gun the whole week. This keeps up I'll look for something more lucrative. Like hanging out with Vietnam Vets in a mall or something.

I hang out with vets in the mall occasionally for morning coffee. Did it this morning for the first time in a while. Sometimes I'll miss a month or three depending on what is happening and where I am. Used to drop by after leaving my government office up the Interstate a few miles. But, at 59, I'm the youngest of the group. Most of the guys are either Korea or both Korea and Vietnam vets. Bunch of Colonels and crap like that, but we have enough grunts to keep things normal.

Just found out today that one of the guys, who wasn't there today, showed one of the other guys his DD214 the other day after a doctor's appointment. Pretty much continuous tours of Korea and Vietnam; three Purple Hearts; three Silver Stars; five Bronze Stars; etc. He never let on about it. Apparently, in 1973 Vietnam they finally told him to go home. I had no idea he had that kind of record, although he did know my DI at Bragg (kinda' a legendary character in the SF world) personally.

Occasionally we get a young guy with us. Like the former Army E-4, Captain First Class who was released for disability but who was about to go back in as a Marine. He didn't last long.

Come to think of it, I haven't heard of him since.

The routine is that they meet from mall opening till around 11:00 when one of the local gun shops opens. I generally pass on the gun shop unless I just drop by later for a while. Depends on what is on the schedule. Hopefully, less and less.

What you need is more "value shoppers".
