look forward to getting you to teach me the best formula for that 51 navy percussion pistol that mark's giving me...that'll be on the next meet.

I will make sure to bring some different powders and measures to shake down the best charge for that gun, I'd like to see us flood that little draw full of spark and smoke. Shooting old school style!

I wonder if back in the day when they came out with .44 cal revolvers if they referred to the .36 cal as Euro wussy rounds? LOL

As to general 'PCness' of TGO... that's a valid opinion, of course, but after checking for myself, there are remarkably few posts/threads which have ever been deleted, and barely a handful of 'Infractions' handed out (and very few more warnings). On the other hand, there have been many, many trolls show up who have been dealt with... many unbeknownst to most of you... so don't assume that the stated rules of conduct which are enforced are not enforced for the reason of being effective and even-handed for the good of the members and the perception of TGO to the community and prospective members. If you feel that you have been censored, please contact me by pm and I will be very reasonable in discussing it. As far as I am aware, the only area which is more or less strictly enforced is the Vendor area... and for obvious reasons.

I think TGO member's do a great job of censoring themselves and each other as well as picking out trolls. I can remember discussions on both points.

AFWIW, I've never been asked to be a mod. I was wondering what size shoes you all wear?.....Only kidding guys. I'm sure it is a thankless job, but thank you all for what it's worth now. And by all, I mean members alike.

I'd be lying if I said that I've never been out of line. And I have been held, and have held myself, to the same standard as I enforce... because that's what I think Tungsten intended for TGO to be, as Boom alluded to, a self-regulating membership.

But, we all know that somebody's got to have some teeth with which to enforce the rules. I didn't ask for this role, and as such I have/will never treat any other member differently than I would expect if the roles were reversed, because someday they might. If anybody has an issue with how policy is enforced, send me a pm. No need to let an opinion fester until a house-cleaning thread comes along :D

Don't mean to hijack this love fest, but does this video stop and go for everyone else? For some reason, in the last week or so, it seems as if most of the videos I watch seem to be buffering very slowly. I can;t watch most videos without them stopping a dozen or more times throughout the length of the video.

I know how ones personal ideology can turn things into a heated discussion. Because of this, I still love all of you. You're my favorite bunch of gun nuts...errrrr....enthusiasts I've ever posted with. Still, with the exception of one.:P

Listen to this song a few times, you'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Not to ruin all the love but....

Oh, man. I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was dealing with someone in one of "those kind" of relationships. We'll talk again when you get a conjugal visit with your manhood. ;)

Ok man you can have the last word.:P

PS: I'm thinking about buying a Glock. Can we hang out?

Glocks suck and No.

For what it is worth I appreciate whats his name providing this place for us to gather and discuss and argue all sorts of trivial crap. I have been picking fights with thinga-ma-jigga from pretty much the start and I am still here. That is more than could be said for many internet forums. That said, I still hate you guys!:P

All videos are stop and go for me but my providers DSL bites. Don't know what type or speed service you have but what I usually do is start it downloading with the sound off, move around on some other tabs or windows and come back the hit replay when its done to get it all at once without interruption. There is a lady named Allison Crowe on the little windows below the video after the first one is done that really knocks that song out. I don't pretend to understand what they were singing about. I'm a big fan of Christian Music but had never heard that one before. Someone gets tied to a kitchen chair and gets his hair cut off??? Almost like Samson there but who knows. I couldn't understand half the words anyway but Hallelujah is always a good word.

If your on a modem and you haven't reset it in a while, try that. Turn the power off to your modem and router if your networked and let it clear its cache. That helps with speed as well sometimes.

You still like me don't you Urse? Urse?

When I say "I hate you guys" it's sort of a strange bizzaro term of endearment.................really!:P

I think That was hornet's way of being Non-pc.

anyhow...while you guys were arguing about this stupid crap that you can't change anyhow, I went to carters' gun range and instead of hanging out on the board (it WAS raining today..with thunder even!) I met up with StrickJ. That guy is neat! He showed me 2 unorthodox weapons that I would have normally dismissed. I bought one and want the other....

one was a kel-tek p32 with an extended magazine. That pistol is wicked awesome! I hadn't had a chance to shoot one until I shot Strick's pistol. its an excellent close in pistol and much better for a carry pistol for Julez than a 2 shot 22 mag derringer...so I had to buy one. If you guys think THIS conversation is hairy...wait till she finds out I bought it. I think I'm going to be wearing my ass between my shoulders for a couple of days (with her footprint squarely in the middle of it)

I JUST spent 900 bucks for a Uberti Yellowboy in .45 LC... wait till she finds that I spent 360 bucks for ammo, and extended mag and the ps32 for her...

I did get it for her, but I'll still catch hell for buying another pistol so soon and breaking one of my spending rules.

The other weapon that I want is also a Keltek..its a sub2000....go figure!!

I shot strickj's .40 cal... I like it! Mark@sea was looking for a good trunk monkey..I think this would fit the bill admirably! The .40 is a bit hard on recoil but it's totally manageable! Best of all, it folds up pretty dang compactly.

I also noticed that strick carries a shotgun in a tennis racket case.. do NOT ask him to play tennis, it would be a pretty short match!:P

This may throw a wrench into my getting that DPMS panther when I come home next month..but I'll be careful to put away some money and make sure Julez is happy so that I can get it.

You will love that sub 2000, I have 2 in glock 22 format so I bought a glock and about 30 mags.:P

Before we close this thread and all move on to something different...

I want to point out a few things that I feel need pointing out:

#1) The accusation was made the the moderators on TGO are guilty of editing or deleting threads and posts. My gut told me that this was untrue but I went and verified just as Eddie did. The forum software keeps a log of all moderator actions and there just aren't any instances of this happening in a very, very long time. The one moderator who did occasionally edit or delete things that he didn't like was relieved from duty a while back.

It seems therefore that a false perception exists about the way the moderators do their job here. I can substantiate, with evidence from the server's own log files, that no one is abusing their moderator powers by squelching things just because they don't agree with what was said. The very fact that THIS thread has gone on for as long as it has is proof that we don't make knee jerk reactions to things.

#2) It needs to be pointed out that the ETS, Inc. / Frank issue was being handled behind the scenes several days before the membership at large caught wind of it. The raffle thread was pulled into a holding area, out of the public eye, for several days while Eddie and I consulted each other and Frank and tried to figure out how to best handle the situation. Just because you didn't see every detail of what was going on, it didn't mean that diplomatic negotiations weren't taking place out of your line of sight.

#3) Along that line of thought, the sad irony here is that the people who screamed the loudest about the ETS issue and demanded that we be held publicly accountable to the members of TGO for our decision may have screwed Frank in the process.

How?

There were details that we did not initially make public because we felt that withholding said information was for Frank's own good. We wanted to give him time to modify the raffle to avoid legal ramifications.

We had our concerns about the potentially illegal nature of the machine gun raffle. But we did not see any reason to post those concerns publicly. It occurred to us that doing so potentially made it easier for the State to make a case against him if they so desired. We tried as best as we could to keep some of the ETS situation out of the public eye. Some of you wouldn't let us do that. Congratulations! You may have made it worse on Frank by forcing our hand and demanding that we disclose the full details of what happened. Now it's recorded for public viewing.

In the future, some of the members here may want to give the Staff a little more credit and let them handle things discretely. In turn, we will try to be more open with the members at large once negotiations break down and more drastic measures have to be taken. Full disclosure seems to be a better choice for the Whole while it may still not be the best option for the Individual. That's just how life works.

You have a very good team of moderators working on your behalf here at TGO. They are some of the most impartial folks that I've ever met and handle situations daily with a lot of tact and decorum. Believe it or not, the moderators don't always agree with each other all the time and there are instances where we call each other out onto the carpet in the Staff forum. We do keep each other in check just so that this place doesn't become a one-man show.

The day that the moderators all start agreeing with me consistently is the day that I shake things up and make Urse a moderator. :P

Now... go enjoy the forum. Treat each other well.
