I was a Zombie!!!1!!11! ...but I got better...

So that's me, as a zombie. Why, you ask? I ran in a zombie 5k down in Union Point GA with a crew call "Run for your Lives" who travels all over the country and sets up these races. The goal is to run a 5k with three flags similar to ones in flag football. Zombies and obstacles are staged all along the course and you try to finish with a flag. I was a zombie for the first 3 hours, tried to grab flags and I was staged close to the end of the course. By the time most of the runners got to my obstacle less than a dozen still had flags. I was thinking the race would be difficult and I would be right. Oh, and my make-up, done by one of the lead FX guys for the Walking Dead. When I finally ran my race it was through ankle deep mud for 3 miles trying to sprint away from zombies and through watery/muddy obstacles. When I got close to the end I discovered I was still with a flag so I sprinted to the finish and made it as one of the "living". Loads of fun. If you want to try it just Google zombie 5k and you'll find tons of info.

That is really cool.

They do something similar in Johnson City every year.

I imagine sprinting in mud would be very exausting.

I saw the "run for your lives" website. I hope they comt to mid tenn sometime. Looks like alot of fun
