Thank you so much ATF

I just came from ATF and I want to say thank you and it was a wonderful experience. ATF will get all my business.

Of course I do not mean that ATF, but I am talking about

Austin's Tennessee Firearms in Oak Ridge TN.

I have been wanting to get a rifle for my 5.5 year old grandson. I found the one I wanted and spoke to Phantom6 (Mike Crowe) about ordering this beauty for us. Mike called and got me a great price and in short order I received a phone call telling me our awesome single shot .22 was in town.

I went up to O.R. this evening, filled out the paper trail to to keep the other ATF happy and came home with the grandsons rifle.

We got a Savage Cub Mini Youth Single Shot .22 LR. This is an heirloom quality rifle that with a little care will be shot by my great great grandchildren.

My grandson does not know I have it and he is going to flip out this weekend when he is here. He will go batty over it and I can't wait to see his smiling face as we go out into the woods to do a little plinking.

He will get a good safety review of the weapon. And I have some snap caps for him to practice loading, sighting, firing and actioning the rifle.

He has a very good understanding of the damage guns can do. Well at least as good as a six year old can understand. Once he exhibits he can safely load, action and fire the snap caps we will go out and shoot some live rounds.

here is a generic pic of the rifle from the Savage website. His looks just like it except his stock is nicer I think.

Thanks again Phantom6 for helping me make this happen.

PS: I forgot to mention the exceptional TGO discount I received!!

Some people seemed to know about it...

Might have something to do with the rule about no riff raff allowed. hahahahahaha

I took the little rifle out just now to sight it in. The dang thing is a tack driver.

I needed to adjust for windage a tick and after that I was able to put rounds in a area the size of a quarter from about 50 feet. I love the peep sight. Dang I wish I had one on my Savage rifle.

Hell what kind of fun would buying a working gun be? It's kinda like having a tractor that starts when you want it too.

Is Mike going to stock in-store, or only order? If he stock in-store I get actually look at everything, even if I can't buy XD

Mike, I'm glad you liked the way the transaction went and appreciate the kind words of testimonial. BTW, I think we told you that your's was the first long gun transfered. Don't know if I told you but yours was the FIRST OFFICIAL FIREARM SOLD by our little operation. The handgun that transfered earlier in the day was just a transfer of a pistol from out of state for a guy that works with the ACSO here. Thank you for your business. We appreciate it. I know your grand son is gonna love that rifle. Do take some pictures of him and share them here on the forum.

Dave, I did post the announcement. Didn't you see my comment regarding carry permit badges at the following thread?

http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?p=91260#post91260

Well, OK I guess that wasn't much of announcement but you need to see the new carry car/badge combo that we've come up with. I think it's gonna be a smash. :D

Folks, as I said when I posted our info in the Gun Shop section of the data base we are first and foremost a firearms training operation. The firearms and firearms accessories areas are the pro shop for our students and the general public as well. We will not be able to stock a large selection of firearms at first because of the cash or credit required. So, we'll start out slow with only 12-14 different types of handguns- mostly self defense types and a few quality long guns like the shotguns I posted pictures of earlier. If we have it in stock for sale you can take it with you when you leave provided the TICS check comes back satisfactorily of course. If it's not in stock I can have it here in 24-48 hrs. I hate to send folks to other places to fondle guns and get ideas for what they want but just give me a chance to price it out for you before you buy it. We have almost 24hour access to over 60,000 products from every quality manufacturer in the industry. Kimber, Sig, S&W, Colt, Remington, Browning, DPMS, Winchester, Taurus, Seecamp, KelTec, Bianchi, Safariland, Messa Tactical, Surefire, Streamlite, MagLite, we can get 'em all. Good things come to those who wait so if you don't mind waiting a day or two for your new toy to come in you are gonna save big.

We also offer quality gunsmith work by a trained armorer. He doesn't do finishing work or drill and tap but the mechanical stuff is his cup of tea. He can fix what's broken and polish out a trigger as well as any smith I've had do work for me. Whether it's a PPK clone from an old eastern block country or a Kimber he can get 'em running smooth as silk.

Come by and sign up for a class, buy a new of used gun, dress up your existing gun, look, talk, or just to visit. We're located on Talmeda Rd., right behind Tod's Maytag in the Jackson Square area of Oak Ridge.

Unfortunately due to an instructor class going on this weekend we will be closed until Monday 28 April. Hours are normally 3 pm-7 pm M-Sat.

We'll see y'all when you get here.

I also must attest that half the pleasure of buying the new rifle was shooting the breeze with Mike and Sam.

I might end up in that place just adding to the hot air on a Saturday afternoon sometime, LOL.
