1911 Fixed barrel gas system?

When you add parts you run up the chances of a malfunction and add weight. It maybe a good deal but there will be a trade-off.

I don't understand how you can improve upon perfection???? If John Moses Browning wanted a gas operated system then he would have put one in the patent. LOL

HaHa, I'd hardly call them perfection. But in fact he did improve it with the Hi-Power!

This is very similar to the recoil management system of an H&K P7.

LOL!! he STILL didn't use a dingus to deal with the recoil...

either way, they're dang good designs..why muck them up with something that isn't needed to make the firearm function?

This has been tried before about 20 years ago.It never caught on.The 1911 works fine as is.

I recently added a recoil management system to my Wilson Combat. It makes it a little heavier and a bit harder to buy holsters for, but I think the advantages far outweigh those minor problems.
