I have been poking around awhile looking for an AR-15 and I found one online for $725. It is a Bushmaster Carbon 15, with Bushnell red dot sight. It is a 223/5.56. Does anyone have experience with this? Is it better or worse than a SW M&P 15 Sport?

Thanks!

if it is the one i am thinking of, with the oval looking forearm, i would not get. i can not remember what parts, but not the bacis mil-spec so you can not just change parts out. but call bushmaster first. i can not remember but i am thinking it the also the whole carbon seires of rifles. check first.

but remember it what makes you happy.

With AR's, like most anything else.....you pay for what you get. I'm not telling you to go out and get a Knights, but there are far better choices for only a little bit more.

I still haven't figured out the carbon series. I understand that they are polymer receivers but why? There really isn't a price savings. Weight savings is negligible in my mind. Why get one over a mil spec rifle?

I wouldnt go with a Carbon 15 Ive never really liked them, have no good reason other than the materials they are made of. Bushmaster is also the only BRAND NEW rifle that broke on me immediately when shooting after purchase, that was several years ago and something happend to the bolt dont really remember but it had to be sent back.
