Changing clothes on the Hinderers

Recommended Posts

When I was in Phoenix a couple of months back I bought a new set of frag scales for my ZT 0550. I put them on when I got home and liked them so much that I ordered a set for my XM-18 to make it match my XM-24. I also ordered blue titanium standoffs for the 18 and the 24.

Nice. I love that orange color. I take it you got those from Monkey Edge. I changed my 0551 to orange as well, but unfortunately it never gets used since I have the XM-24. I also changed my XM-24 to the textured carbon fiber with bronze stand-offs. As soon as Rick makes some more titanium scales for the XM-24, I will probably change my scale to either the bronzed titanium or stonewashed titanium. It is a little pricey at $200, but they are still cool as hell.

Ever thought about changing the clip?

My XM18 is my work tool and it is Orange, I love it

That's good to hear. I see so many Hinderers that are safe queens. It is certainly understandable that a lot of people don't use their XM due to the cost, but man these knives beg to be carried and used hard. My 24 is on my pocket everyday, and I use it on pretty much everything. I was using the frame as a bung wrench today opening 55 gallon drums. That is one of the great things about the stonewash finish. You can use the hell out of it and it still looks great. I love my Sebenzas and Startacs, but not like my XM-24.

I can't wait to see how the ZT-560/561 compares. Hopefully they will be fantastic so those who might not want to pay XM price can get something almost as good for a fraction of the cost.

I really want to use my XM18 but I can't get the ZT 0350 out of my pocket. I don't think the arrival of the 0561 is going to help...

I did have 5 ZT-0350s. Just recently, I gave away one of my KWs, and I am about to give away my regular 0350. Neither had been used. The 0350 is a great knife, but I prefer the 0300 much more. I am hard on knives that I carry and the 0300 always seemed more durable to me than the 0350.

I absolutely hate this thread. This thread was the first I had ever seen Hinderer knives. Now I'm hooked. Its gonna be a long time before I can afford the real deal and a long time before I can justify the cost of the ZT knives. But I've already ordered the Hinderer Gerber collabs and am impatiently tapping my foot waiting on the Kershaw Cryo.
