Does anyone have an opinion on particular brand or set up?

I commute into Nashville during rush hour and after seeing the video linked below I have got to get one.

A guy I know drives a dump truck everyday. He has a regular video camera mounted in his cab. Its on all day while he is driving through the city.

Kind of expensive but if you add a nice sized memory card you can drive for a long time without having to switch out cards.

You will have to turn the gopro on and off. A more ideal setup would be something that turns on and off. You would also have to empty off the card everytime.

you can get a fairly cheap camera that will wireless broadcast the stream to a PC to record. Might be useful if you had a laptop anyway.

Never saw anything like that video. Screw the camera. Whip some ass. Is this some kind

of new scam?

I forgot the name of it (a quick Google search would probably turn it up), but there is a smartphone app that allows you to use your cell phone as that type of camera. Just get you a mount of some sort and it'll sit there recording on a loop (your choice of times). You'd probably have to keep your phone plugged in to the power port, but it's a very cost-effective solution. I learned about it after seeing a video on the news of a guy who used the app to catch someone trying to scam him in a very similar way.
