Check this out, new RI 1911

I shot a regular RI 1911 at the range probably about 3 weeks ago, shot nice, so i started looking into them. BTW thats the only 1911 i've shot before, so i don't really have anything to compare it to. Came across this pistol the other day, been throwing around the idea of picking it up. Anyone have any thoughts on Rock Island, should i wait and shoot a couple more 1911's? $600

It is a fine pistol, and a good starting point. If you have around $1000+ to spend, wait and look at many options. If you have $750 or less, you will be hard pressed to do any better (apart from cosmetics).

Agreed with Jon. I have the tactical version and love it. It's a great gun regardless of the price.

Well it's not really a "new" RIA, it's been out a while. I almost got one, but holster selection is very, very slim.

BUY IT NOW! I have several 1911's of varying cost, my least expensive one has been made to shoot NEARLY as well as my more expensive ones. Triggers can be massaged, springs swapped, slid-to-frame fit fiddled with, and small parts switched out. And you would still be ahead in $$$. I do not know what kind of budget you make for firearms, but $600 is a great price for that heater. Upgrades down the road will make the RIA really shine.

For $750, see if you can find a used Springfield Loaded or Loaded Champion. You won't regret it.

would be my first real single stack 1911. Rock Islands

are fine and they make you consider buying another.

I love my 2011 ria 1911! Did they change the billboard? I thought mine was tacky lol. 600 for tac 1911 with full rail and night sights

The railed Springfield holsters usually work fine with the railed ria too.
