Sig X-Five Tactical Purchase advice

A fella I know has offered to sell me his X-Five Tactical for 950.00. I shot the thing and was amazed, but can't quite wrap my head around the whole Sig for a Grand thing. If it was a 300.00 Glock 9mm I would be all over it. The thing has been meticulously maintained. Anyone think that getting an X-Five Tactical for 950.00 is a dumb move, if so, why?

Thanks,

Craig in Clarksville

The most I've ever paid for a Sig was $350, and that was a P6, I'm about $200 into a P226. If you are thinking about moving back into the metal gun world you should look at Sarco, the have dirt cheap P226 and P228's, you'd just have to call them and see what they have in stock. Their prices on them are all under $450, granted these are going to be the older pistols, not the neat new tactical model.

i'll take it! but seriously that is a steal for that gun! I love my sig 220 and if i didn't promise my significant other no more purchases this year (on new guns, I can still upgrade old guns) I personally would jump on that gun and a springfield xds, and a DD V5LW...

if i am not mistaken, the Sig X 5 series runs around $2000. i do not which model i have fondeled and shot but it was very nice, the slide is internaly lighten and plenty of extra goodies. but i does require a full power load to run. and i do believe only the X5 mags work in the gun.

the x-five is a 226 9mm with some extra work done (and five inch barrel hence the x-five). I believe they are only made in Germany for a tighter grouping or atleast that's what they were going for when they first came out. the tactical retails for around 1700. The only things I don't like compared to my 220 stainless eite is: no decocker, i don't want a safety, no da, no threaded barrel, and does it include a short reset trigger?

Sounds like a great deal. I believe the X-five is too big for IDPA rules if you were thinking of it for that purpose.

never thought about IDPA but believe it or not the damn thing is production legal in USPSA!
