New, dealer said 3rd gen. Do you find this a problem not being able to lower the hammer, how are you to lower hammer without loading a round without emptying the mag?

I got my P22 about 6 years ago, and in that iteration of the weapon, a magazine must be inserted to move the hammer. I do not find this to be a problem. I either place an empty magazine in and pull the trigger, or with a loaded magazine I PUT THE SAFTEY ON FIRST then using shooting-hand-thumb tension on the hammer I pull the trigger and SLOWLY ease the hammer down. It will rest on the safety bar. Be really really F#@%$&^G careful doing this and practice on an empty magazine.
