Man, I stopped by my LGS and found that they had an SR1911 in stock, but they do not want to bargain at all ($799 plus tax, even with cash). I checked online, and I do not see any deals out there, in fact, I see some SR1911's going for more than MSRP! What to do? I really like this gun, it looks awesome and the reviews are favorable. Does anyone own one?

One of our local shops is taking deposits for orders. Just heard they have 112 people waiting on one. They will come down to reasonable prices, but probably not this year.

I got mine for 650 2 weeks ago

But only cause I buy often at the same shop and the guy was nice enough

to hook me up.......he had 2 and sold the other for 799 LOL........

Its good to be nice to your local gun shop

PS I ran 75 rounds through it straight out of the box

and its a FANTASTIC shooter ...find you one !

Wait for the right time and the right price, there is no hurry on this because production will catch up to demand. I can only say this because I've had the itch for the newest gun more than a few time's when I was younger.

The guy at my LGS hooked up with the Ruger folks at the Shot Show. He tells me they are currntly making 50 guns a day and they hope to increase that to 100 per day.

So it might be awhile before ther's a good supply.

I got to talk to the new Ruger senior sales executive in this area, now living in Lebanon, TN, after moving from CT. I believe he told me that he had been working for Ruger for a number of decades. Mr. Pence was his name, very nice guy. He said that Ruger, as of the end of this week should be up to producing 600/wk.

Ask him if he can get me a deal on one! :D
