Quail Preserve Near Chattanooga

Can anyone recommend a quail shooting preserve near Chattanooga? I would like to introduce my 9 year old grandson to the sport this fall.

Used to go to Clinton Graham in Henagar, Al. but that was years ago and I live in Nashville now.

Any help is appreciated greatly.

Thank you.

Jim

quail population seems, just from the lack of hearing their calls, to have really declined this past decade in this area. I am not sure what to say, but I live next to the bird sanctuary (NOT a hunting area!) and even here I have heard more owls than quail (and the owls are rare enough that we quiet down & listen to them when they are out). I would be interested to know of an area where they have thrived as well. Dove is quite common, and should be easier to hunt.

There is a Quail and Pheasent reserve in Clarksville. It is "Burnt Oak" reserve. I love that place! I never hunted there but their pheasents escape to the local WMA and I kill the h*** out of them! Look them up and you could get a phone number.

I believe there is one around Pigeon Mtn., just below Chickamauga, Ga.

They offer quail and pheasant as i recall.

that may be a solid option. GA offers short duration (1-3 day???) hunting permits at a fairly reasonable rate, if you were only wanting to go once or twice. I am not sure what all is involved but they have a lot of liscense alternatives.

Craig Plantation, Fayetteville, TN is a nice option as is C&C Partridge Patch near Estill Springs, TN. Selwood, South of Birmingham, AL is very nice too!

Triple S quail farm in Ringgold, GA. No frills but an inexpensive reserve hunt. Hunt over their dogs (not great dogs) or bring your own. I think they supply several other outfitters in the area with birds. I've done a pheasant tower shoot with them and was surprised at how fun it was. Seemed like shooting fish in a barrel but was actually quite challenging.
