I guess you guys didn't read the whole story. It clearly says "the gun accidently fired a single shot in her chest"

This guy is just a victim of a poorly designed product.

What does a negligent shooting by a felon in Florida have to do with Tennessee? More anti-gun BS from the Tennessean.

The suspect and victim were both from Nashville/Mt Juliet. Not sure where the gun that accidently fired the shot by itself was from.

Wherever the people are from and wherever the gun was from and wherever the ammo was from; stupid is stupid.

Most of us have done "stupid" at one time or another; sometimes the consequences are more severe than at others; sometimes very severe.

P.S. Given the couple's current residence (in FL) I do suspect that the Tennessean's purpose for running the story has more to do with its anti-gun bias than is does with the news value of the story to the people of Middle Tennessee.

It didn't say so in the article, but I'm willing to bet that the gun pointed itself at the wife.

I agree. It is a stretch to even try to make this about Nashville. And furthermore, to put a "survey" at the bottom of the report about banning assault style weapons is very distasteful...

Exactly. I doubt they run articles about everyone who's ever lived in N'ville and moved away. It fits in their anti gun agenda, the survey is a further slap in the face.

Man, it should be illegal for felons to have guns.

Did anybody look at the results so far of the poll? When i voted, over 80% said no. Lol

I'm surprised that many (refering to the poll numbers) gun people still read the Tennessean.

Where else will they get their "news"?

Makes me wonder if it was an accident

No doubt. Gonna be hard to prove intent but it will be extremely easy to prove negligence. He's going to prison either way and now these kids will be without two parents.

As opposed to a gun that fires a single shot on purpose? ;)

Yes, it should be. I thought the poll attached to the story was interesting.

Especially the results. They're up above 82% on the "no" side now.
