ESEE Junglas... Should I keep it or sell it?

In a fit of hysteria, I bought a ESEE Junglas knife with sheath. They are a little tough to find for a reasonable price and I saw it and my lust got the better of me. I spent a decent chunk of change on it and I'm not really sure I'll ever use it for it's intended purpose. For those unfamiliar, this thing is a beast. It's kind of like a mini-machete more than it is a knife. I have a couple of nice survival knives, a machete, and a nice camp axe, so I don't know what gap this would fill for me now that I have it in hand. It's a nice set-up though, so I can't decide.

So, what do you knife afficianados think? Should I keep it or sell it?

While that is a really nice knife (except for the powder coat thing) if you're not going to use it why keep it? I'm interested in what kind of camp ax you use cause that is my next edged purchase.

It's a Gransfors Bruks. I think I have the small forest axe. Their products are hand forged and are extremely well made. The blade was literally sharp enough to shave hair and it holds an excellent edge. Wetterlings also makes some fantastic axes, but they tend to cost a bit more and I am not aware of any significant difference between the GB and the Wetterlings. I had a very knowledgeable fellow steer me to the GB over the Wetterlings and I couldn't be happier.

I got mine at Smoky Mountain Knife Works down in Sevierville. They carry the full line so you can see which size you want and pick the nicest specimen.

I got mine from SMKW as well. I'll likely never part with anything with ESEE's name on it.

Not much of a knife guy, but the ESSEE knives sure look and feel great. And though I've normally bought only cheap knives, I could be persuaded to look seriously at the JUNGLAS. It has a very impressive look about it.

GB axes are the Cat's meow! Congrats on a superb piece of gear! Sell the knife and buy a Henry Lever action or a Ruger 10/22. You'll get more use out of that.

Yeah, I think I'll probably part with it. Like I said, I have a few other good knives (Gerber ASEK, ESEE 4", ESEE Izula, a Mora military knife, a Gransfors camp axe, and a nice heavy machete). With my other blades, the Junglas just doesn't fill a gap I need to fill. I must admit, it's cool to hold that beast in your hand and it's sharp for sure.

Unfortunately for me, "need" and knives don't seem to go together. Good luck selling it, it should go quickly.
