Mosin 91/30

Well today I joined the craze of people with 91/30's. I ordered one from Buds today. Can't believe I just bought a bolt gun under $150. Will follow up with pics as soon as comes in. Any advice on best place on ammo. Found Russian surplus for about $100 shipped for a 440 rnd can. I am not really sure if this is a good price.

Get you a C&R. Then you can buy a 91/30 for under 100.00 and wonthave to pay a transfer fee. Just one warning, you wont stop at one or two.

I am going to check them out. I plan on getting a c&r in the next year but am planning to move in a couPle of months and wanna wait til get in new place first

They are like potato chips, can't have just one. Just received my 7th one last week from Classic Arms. A chinese model 53 (M44) $185.00 to the door with $10 hand select. A little steep but an unuasual model.Rough stock but metal ok. More cosmoline than I have ever seen. COMPLETE teardown was necessary.

Unless someone else has already stripped the cosmoline off, I doubt you'll be shooting the same day it comes in the mail. Well, I guess you could, but it took me a while to clean all the cosmoline out, and then I stained/sealed it before shooting. Anyhow, let us know how she shoots!

We have Mosin shoots at Desoto Rifle and Pistol in Como, MS. 200, 300 and 600 yds. Next one is May 6th.

Most Mosins I have found in Pawn Shops have been sold after ONE round has been shot. Usually the empty case is still in the gun..."The damn thing won't shoot."

Clean it first. any pawnshop will give you 25 bucks for it if you don't. I'll give you 25 bucks for it.
